Email alerts
Sign up to receive an email detailing the roadworks scheduled to start or that have changed in an area of interest.
You can defined your area of interest by:
1. Specifing a postcode and a search radius
2. Drawing an area on the map

Select your area of interest using one of the methods below

to draw your area of interest on the map
Setting up an area of interest from the map
If you want to define your area of interest by drawing the are on the map follow these steps.
1.
Click on the
Define
button
2.
The map page will open, and the
Draw alert area
option will be visible
3.
Zoom into the area that you are interested in using the standard map zoom tool
4.
Select the
Draw alert area
tool and draw you area on the map by clicking on the points on the map which define the boundary of your area, finishing off with a double click
5.
You will then be asked if you want to save your area. If you choose OK then you will return to this page where you can save your email alert. If you choose Cancel you will get the option to define another area, or return to this page without defining an area.

A public email alert is restricted to 1,000km

and an operational email alert is restricted to 100,000km
2
Filter by impact, place or road name
Set the roadworks filters you want in your alert
Impact:
Severe - severe delays likely
Moderate - delays likely
Slight - delays possible
Minimal - delays unlikely
Select at least one roadworks impact to filter on
Road number:
eg. A1 or M25. Comma delimited list of roads permitted
Road name:
eg. High Street or London Road. Comma delimited list of roads permitted
Place name:
eg. Derby or Hastings. Comma delimited list of towns permitted
Information on email alerts
There are two different types of email alert you can receive:
Works starting today or tomorrow
In this case all roadworks scheduled to start today or tomorrow in your area of interest will be included in the email alert. A publi
All works that have changed status in the past 24 hours
In this case you will receive an email detailing all the roadworks in your area of interest that have had any of there details changed in the last 24 hours. Any newly registered roadworks are included in this list.
A public user may only one email alert registered in Elgin. If a public user sets up and confirms successive email alerts the latest one will supercede all the previous ones.
A logged in user may have as many active email alerts as is required.
